Do you know what’s hiding in your ducts?
In today’s air-tight homes, indoor air quality is a growing concern. Most household dust contains dust mites, mold, mildew, pollen and animal dander. Many of these contaminants are circulated through the central air systems in your home and can aggravate the symptoms of asthma and allergies.

So just how much dust and dirt can be in your home’s duct system? On average, duct cleaning removes five to six pounds of dust, dirt, debris, pollen and other contaminants.

What could we remove from your ducts?

  • Allergens and contaminants, including mold and fungi
  • Pet hair
  • Construction materials that over the years may have created a "cold spot," or airflow blockage
  • Food like breadcrumbs and cereal that may grow mold and bacteria
  • Small toys and other objects

Let us do the dirty work!
At Budget Heating & Air, we offer a superior duct cleaning service that uses the powerful yet flexible Rotobrushâ, which easily cleans all types of duct construction (e.g., flex duct, round metal ducts, square metal ducts, fiberboard) including right angle turns, reducers and multiple bends found in most types of duct systems.

The Rotobrushâ is the only video-assisted cleaning method available that brushes and vacuums at the point of contact, eliminating the use of harsh chemicals. You are left with the assurance of fresh, clean and virtually contaminant-free air in your home.

We clean the register covers and remove cooking oil film, nicotine film and other dust-collecting substances.
We deep clean the source of the air supply, including (where applicable) the blower, squirrel cage, coils, condensate pan and return air supply.
The air ducts are then brush vacuumed clean with the exclusive, patented Rotobrushâ. The Rotobrushâ removes the contaminants that circulate through your air duct system. We will sanitize your air ducts and vents with an environmentally safe sanitizer commonly used in hospitals and nursing homes, leaving behind a fresh scent.

What is duct cleaning?
Duct cleaning refers to the cleaning of various heating and cooling system components of forced air systems, including the supply and return air ducts and registers, grilles and diffusers, heat exchangers, heating and cooling coils, condensate drain pans, fan motor and fan housing and the air handling unit housing.

If not properly installed, maintained an operated, these components may become contaminated with particles of dust, pollen or other debris. If moisture is present, the potential for microbiological growth is increased and spores from such growth may be released into your home’s living space. Some of the contaminants may cause allergic reactions or other symptoms in sensitive people if they are exposed to them. It is important that all components of the system is cleaned. Failure to clean a component of a contaminated system can result in re-contamination of the entire system, thus negating any potential benefits.

You should consider having your ducts cleaned if:

  • There is substantial visible mold growth inside hard surface ducts or on other components of your heating and cooling system
  • Ducts are infected with rodents or insects
  • Ducts are clogged with excessive amounts of dust and debris and/or particles are actually released into your home from your supply registers

How often should I have my ducts cleaned?
On average, you should have your ducts properly cleaned every four to five years, or more often if:

  • You or a family member suffers from allergies and asthma
  • You have young children and/or pets
  • You or someone else in your home smokes
  • You suspect that debris may be contributing to poorer indoor air quality
  • There is water contamination or damage to your home heating and cooling system

Consider having your ducts cleaned immediately if you’ve recently:

  • Moved into a new home
  • Completed home renovations
  • Installed a new furnace or central air conditioning system

Healthy Air. Healthy Living.
Indoor air quality is a vital component of your home’s heating and cooling system. You’ve probably heard about the impact air quality can have on your health, especially on those who suffer from allergies.

However, better indoor air quality also has another benefit. It makes your home more comfortable and welcoming. You’ll feel warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer, which means lower utility bills during peak heating and cooling months. In fact, if your system has not been serviced, it could be costing you up to 30% more to operate – and that adds up quickly.

By maintaining your heating and cooling system annually, we can also help pinpoint potential problems before they become costly, inconvenient emergency repairs or worse – safety hazards.

The EPA, Alliance to Save Energy and Consumer Reportsâ all recommend system maintenance.

Because a well-maintained system runs more efficiently, the Budget Protection Plan ensures you’ll get peak performance from your heating and cooling equipment and help you save hundreds of dollars on your utility bills and in repairs to your system.

When you sign-up for the Budget Protection Plan you’ll receive:

  • Two maintenance visits per year – once per Spring and once per Fall to prepare your equipment for Summer and Winter
  • A 15% discount on all materials
  • Priority scheduling on emergency calls
  • No overtime or trip charges
During the maintenance visit, our service technician will be pleased to answer any question you may have about your heating and cooling system and will advise you about simple maintenance you can perform to keep your system operating at optimum performance.

All of our service technicians are fully licensed and receive extensive ongoing factory training.

During your annual system maintenance, we will:

Clean fan belts, sheaves, air filters, indoor or outdoor coils evaporator and piping
Check condensate pan
Check and adjust belt tension, thermostat, controls and valves
Lubricate all bearings and motors, if required
Check air volume and distribution
Check for proper voltage and amp draw
Check all electrical connections
Check refrigerant pressures
Check for proper temperature
Check flue for obstructions and condition
Humidifier – check float valve, drive motor and filter media
Electronic Air Cleaner – clean and check filter pad, pre-filter and check power pack for proper operation

"Indoor allergens constitute a substantial public health problem." - National Academy of Sciences, Institute of Medicine

Poor indoor air quality can threaten your health (HEADLINE) Most people spend over 90% of their time indoors, not knowing that the air they are breathing may be more polluted than the air outside. The Environmental Protection Agency has reported that indoor air pollution levels can be 100 times higher than the air outdoors.

Even in the cleanest homes, the air you breathe can be littered with dust, pollen and other harmful contaminants. A cubic foot of air can have as many as 30 million pollutants - particles so small, they're invisible. And, in this case, it's what you can't see that can hurt you.

Discover clean air solutions for your entire home (HEADLINE) Breathing contaminated air puts the health of you and your family at risk. In fact, the American College of Allergists says that 50% of illnesses are caused or aggravated by polluted indoor air. So take control of your indoor air quality by reducing pollutants that can contribute to headaches, lung irritation and fatigue, as well as more long-term conditions like asthma, allergies and infections diseases.

Thankfully, you can help protect the health of your family and improve the comfort of your home. Installing an air cleaning system as part of your heating and cooling system will ensure fresher and cleaner indoor air.

Air cleaners remove harmful contaminants like pollen, smoke, bacteria, viruses, mold and dust from the home environment. As air is drawn to the central forced-air heating and cooling system, it passes through the air cleaner where the particles of dirt and dust are trapped. The clean air is then re-circulated throughout your entire home.

Not all air cleaners are the same. The typical furnace filter is simply not enough. It only traps very large particles that you can see, things like dirt and hair, but it removes less than 20% of the pollutants in your home. High efficiency air cleaners are up to 99% effective at removing particles you can't even see from the air your family breathes.
